On August 31st 2013, Fike, one of the world’s leading suppliers of life safety systems, opened a new Customer Service and Support Centre in Mumbai, India. Chuck Kopoulos, CEO and President of Fike Corporation, together with Executive Vice Presidents Scott Ruland and Hal Cross, opened the Centre at a special ceremony to mark the occasion. Fike has been established in India for over 14 years with a manufacturing and distribution centre based in Pune. The new Centre in Mumbai represents a major new investment for Fike and underlines its continued commitment to customer service and the Indian sub-continent as an important and growing region.
Sales and Technical Support teams from the various Fike businesses will be located at the new Centre and will be able to network with each other and their customers. One of the company’s first businesses to set up in the new facility is Fike Safety Technology Ltd (FST), the UK-based fire detection specialist.
“Our customers see the opening of this facility as a very positive move showing them that we are committed to supporting the Indian market and that FST is going to be around for a long time,” said Deepak Kumar, FST’s India Country Manager. “In addition to providing superb training and demonstration facilities we also positively encourage our customers to use the facilities for their own use when travelling in the area. This provides them with first-class office facilities as well as an opportunity to network with the teams from the various Fike businesses. We think this is an innovative approach to customer service.”
FST’s intelligent fire detection solutions are proving to be very popular with the professional fire alarm companies in India. The TWINFLEX smart 2-wire and Duonet/Quadnet analogue addressable systems are being used extensively in commercial applications such as hotels and shopping malls. The SigniFire video fire detection system is particularly relevant for large gas processing plants and power generation. The state-of-the-art, camera-based SigniFire detection system visually detects the presence of fire or smoke at its source, independent of airflow in the area. It provides a critical advantage for early warning fire detection, identifying and reacting to fire situations in their earliest stages, and protecting lives and vital infrastructure.
